Sign in front of the project with artist's rendering of the finished development

Earlier this year (in October) we reported on the sale of the large block of empty land next to the Simkin Centre to a corporation known as Tell Ventures Ltd. Tell Ventures is the developer behind Brightwater Senior Living of Tuxedo, located on Sterling Lyon Blvd. (next to the Fashion Outlet Mall).

In that article we quoted from an email received from Randall Corwin, CEO of Tell Ventures Ltd., in which he described what the plans are for the development of the site. Corwin wrote: “We have acquired the full 10.3 acre site for development of senior housing… At first pass, we expect to develop a total of 419 suites, which will be constructed in three separate phases beginning with the most westerly portion of the land…  The campus will include health care, similar to our Tuxedo project, independent supportive living and senior apartments geared to individuals 55 plus.  The campus will allow us to provide distinctive design elements and common areas specific to the full continuum of senior housing options.”
Just recently work began on developing the site. Signs showing an artist’s rendering of the completed project are visible both on McGillivray Blvd. and Falconridge Drive.
