BRIAN STEPHEN BARSKY

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Brian Stephen Barsky on December 27, 2014, at the age of 60.  Brian fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for over 22 years.

Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laurie and his mother Ruby. Brian was predeceased by his brother Wayne (1994), and his father Arnold (2014).
Brian was born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and attended Prince Albert Collegiate Institute.  Brian was always active in sports and had many friends while growing up. Several of those friendships lasted throughout his lifetime.  Brian enjoyed his friends and his family, sharing a good story and a good laugh.
Brian attended the University of Saskatoon before heading west to follow his dreams.   Brian enjoyed traveling and spent time in Australia and parts of Asia before settling down in Calgary, where he met and married Laurie in September, 1993.    Shortly afterwards, the couple moved to Winnipeg to be closer to family.  Family was very important to Brian.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors in the ICU at both the Victoria Hospital  and Health Science Centre for their compassionate care and their kindness to the family.  As well, the family would like to acknowledge the wonderful home care attendants who played an integral role, over the years, in keeping Brian at home with his family.  Donations in Brian’s memory can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
