It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Evelyn Kanovsky on November 1st, 2018 at the Simkin Centre.
Mom was born on February 1st, 1934 in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Doris Golub, our dad Herb Kanovsky, her mother-in law and father-in-law Lily and Max Kanovsky, and her brother-in-law Julius Minuk.
She is survived by her children Brian (Karen), Pam (Sheldon), Joel (Michelle), her adored grandchildren Samara, Darah, Holli, and Carter, her sister Esther Minuk (Toronto), sister-in-law and brother-in-law Eileen and Jay Seeger (Grand Forks), and nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and baba to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She always worked and cared for all and put their needs before her own. She was a stay-at-home mom who kept a spotless home and food on the table. She enjoyed her outings to Grand Forks, the shopping mall for coffee, and going to the casino on occasion. She resided at the Simkin Centre for the past 3 and a half years. We want to thank the staff and her caregiver Nikki for looking after our mom.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be made to the Simkin Centre located at 1 Falcon Ridge Drive.
We will miss you, but you will always be in our hearts, Mom. Rest in peace. We love you.
