MIRIAM GELLER

With great sadness, we announce that Miriam Geller passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 21, 2021, 13 days in Elul, at the age of 71. Miriam was a loving and caring, kind and gentle person, a most devoted wife, sister and daughter.

She lived in untiring dedication to her loved ones and her community. Miriam was active in the Talmud Torah – Beth Jacob Synagogue as Vice-President and secretary and Chairperson of the Annual Dinner.
Miriam was born on February 9, 1950 in Portage La Prairie and grew up in Winnipeg. She went to the Talmud Torah and Jefferson /Garden City Collegiate. She worked as a bookkeeper, secretary at Dominion/Great West Electric; at the Rosh Pina office as the Rabbi’s secretary; also
United Grain Growers and some temporary jobs.
She leaves to mourn her untimely passing and in poignant loneliness, her loving brother, Percy Golubchuk, her Aunt Esther Karp of Chicago, her cousins and her Uncle Moishe Golubchuk of Vancouver.
She was predeceased by her husband David, mother and father, Sam and Dora Golubchuk, by her maternal grandparents (Telpinsterins) and paternal grandparents and Uncles Archie and Zelik, Aunt Bertha and her mother and father -in-law Ada and Alexander Geller and brother-in-law Gordon Geller.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 23, graveside at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery with Rabbi Avrohom Altein officiating. Pallbearers were Eli Boroditsky, Rocky Kravetsky, Harold Sosnowicz, Rabbi Eliyohu Simmonds, Jack Bidnik and Bernie Bellan.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Talmud Torah-Beth Jacob Synagogue or a charity of your choice.
